What is SQT Bio Microneedling?
SQT Bio Microneedling is a next-generation skin treatment that uses tiny natural spicules (derived from freshwater sponges) to gently exfoliate and stimulate your skin from within. These spicules create millions of micro-channels in the skin, triggering your body’s natural healing response and boosting collagen and elastin production, all without the need for needles or machines.
How is it different from regular microneedling?
Traditional microneedling uses a device with fine needles, whereas SQT works with natural spicules that are massaged into the skin. It’s completely non-device based and needle-free, yet still encourages skin regeneration and renewal. Many people find it less invasive but just as effective, sometimes even more so.
What skin concerns can SQT help with?

What does the treatment feel like?
During the treatment, you may feel a mild prickly or tingling sensation as the spicules are worked into the skin. This usually subsides within a few hours, but you may continue to feel a light “sandpaper” feeling for up to 72 hours, this is completely normal and part of the process.
What is the downtime?
You can expect some redness for the first 24–48 hours, followed by light dryness or flaking as your skin renews itself. Most clients start to see results within 7–10 days, with smoother, brighter, and clearer skin appearing as the new skin cells surface.
How many sessions will I need?
You’ll see visible improvement after just one treatment, but for best results, a course of 4 sessions spaced 2–3 weeks apart is recommended. Your skin goals and condition will determine your personalised treatment plan, which we’ll discuss during your consultation.
Is it safe for sensitive skin?
Yes, because it’s a natural and non-device treatment, SQT can be suitable for most skin types, including sensitive skin. However, a full consultation is always carried out beforehand to ensure the treatment is right for you.
Is there anything I should avoid afterwards?
Yes, avoid touching your face, makeup, saunas, sweating, and active skincare (like acids or retinol) for at least 3 days. Always follow the aftercare advice given during your appointment and keep your skin well hydrated with the recommended products.

It’s best to avoid makeup for at least 24–48 hours after your treatment to allow your skin to heal and breathe.
Can I combine it with other treatments?
Absolutely, SQT pairs beautifully with Dermalux LED Light Therapy to speed up recovery and enhance results. However, it shouldn’t be performed too close to chemical peels or strong exfoliating treatments, your therapist will guide you on ideal timings.
